Marissa: I loved this book, I flew by reading it! I love reading books about this topic, of the fashion/beauty industry. It just feels like a different world and gives you insight about what people don’t see and what goes on behind the scenes.

I liked how even though Maya and Campbell were both models they both went through their own struggles and showed the range of problems and what models and people in the fashion industry go through. Both Maya and Campbell’s willingness to succeed shaped their problems physically and mentally.

Also, I loved Jane’s point of view. As an outsider looking in she gave her take on what all the models living in the house considered “normal” she considers absurd. Usually books about the entertainment/fashion industry is from the point of view of people in the industry and we just think to ourselves, “this isn’t healthy, why do they do that”. But Jane gave us those thoughts living while she was living with all those models.

Van Walsum Fuson wasn’t afraid to showcase the whole truth of the modeling industry. From being a model herself living in a house of models just like Gigi’s house she gave readers an inside view of the modeling industry, from the eating disorders to the perverted photographers. Loved this book!
