Lauryn: It was a perfect wholesome ya romance. It was super cute with the usual “she could’ve never guessed that he was into her” trope. The main characters, Mary and Alex were very likable and fun.
But the thing that interested me was Mary’s love for 19th century fiction. There were so many references to classic books by authors like Jane Austen because the main character is a complete book worm. I loved it.
Then the way that the plot also focused on mary’s other relationships with her friends was also interesting since it didn’t just follow the romantic interest. But also the romantic interest was just too cute i couldn’t handle it, Alex Ritter seems like the perfect boyfriend.
Over all, by the book was good and it’s a perfect easy beach read. I rate it a good 8/10!
